Incredible!!!
What is the caliber and velocity of those pellets? Just curious what kind of speeds that camera can capture!

holy crap dude those vids are just awesome !
seems like my recommendation on the F1 is working out !!!!
have you tried some of the other slowmotions...1200 is very impressive by my understanding is that you will get better resolution if you choose something a bit slower....300 fps for example is still twice of what my camcorder does (120 fps)...600 might be perfect...
for how long can you record at those speeds ? im limited to 3 seconds...
what are the resolution for 1200....600....300 ?
have you tried filming the pellet leaving the barrel that would make for a nice clip...get the camera nice and close !
congrats dude...awesome camera, awesome vidoes !!! |

thanks for all the kind words fellas.
pa varmenter- these shots are all from my rapid- 22 cal shooting about 830 fps
cyg- yup it is working pretty well, thanks for the recomendation!! anyway, i havent shot any 600 or 300 frames per second footage yet, but yes the resolution does go up. basically the way the camera works is it can shoot full hd video, but there is a switch where you can lower the reslution and increase the speed at which it shoots frames. im not sure what the limit is on how long you can shoot but i think it is unlimited as long as you have memory available. i had like 3 hours of high speed footage which is probably equal to like 20 mins real time on my 4 gig mem card and i havent run out of storage room yet. i know ive had the camera running for like 5 mins in real time, recording at 1200 frames per second and there was no problem there, so i dont think there is any sort of time limit on recording, just as long as you have memory available. the camera does require an ultra high speed memory card.
stevek, hahaha, ya i put that miss in there just cause i thought it was soo cool watching the pellet fly by, but trust me that little bugger was out of sight real quick after the miss! lol. oh yeah like i have the cool toys!? your the one with the steyr! - justin |

that is sweet dude...i envy that camera....buuut a dirt bike is higher on the list.
dont forget that even in 300 fps mode, most programs can slow that down afterwards a bit more....i do 120 fps for 3 seconds....that i strecth to allmost 36 seconds....which gives me 10 frames per second in the posted videos....its just enough to make it play fluidly, and slow enough for people to see the pellet in flight....Sony Vegas 7 or 8 does a great job smoothing it out making it nice to look at....
go shoot some wicked clips.....hurry...cant wait for your next installment !
2008 is gonna be a great year for high speed cameras....im not sure how Samsung handles their slowmo....its 300 fps...but if its in true hidef resolution, or even just true vga resolution it will look stunning.....
my sony when in highspeed, cuts resolution by quite a bit...the original footage is only a little bit better than photobucket...it upscales it ...so the true resolution it records in is unknown, but my guess would be something like 640x480 under high compression to fit it in the buffer....or maybe its 320x280, which it then upscales to HD before writing it to tape
